Important results from the project

DCC+G general objectives: - Design of component platforms for key components in 380VDC grid, MOSFET, sensors, lightning protection - Design of sub-systems for installation in operating +/- 380VDC microgrid including conversion from solar energy - Installation of 1-2 test sites, perfrmance verification and comparison to AC microgrid - Expected 5% energy saving vs. AC microgrid.

Expected long term effects

- Basic concepts for design of new 380VDC components are overall ready - All the sub-systems that were supposed to be designed have been delivered to the test sites -Test sites: Fraunhofer Institute i Erlangen, Philips R&D i Eindhoven, Bachmann data center i Stuttgart - Final report for energy saving is not finished, som tests remain. According to preliminary results 5% saving vs. AC grid is possible under favorable conditions

Approach and implementation

Phase 1 - Specification Phase 2 - Design and manufacturing of prototypes Phase 3 - Verification on test sites All 3 phases are followed up by more than 40 reports with content and expectations specified in advance.
