Important results from the project
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project has aimed to solve a major need in the process industry by developing an automated, digital solution to measure large volumes of raw material volumes. We have developed a demonstrator system based on optical measurement technology and this has been validated in a relevant industrial environment. During the course of the project, new sensor technology has been launched, which means that the price of hardware has been reduced, which has opened up for more related applications.
Expected long term effects
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project has produced a demonstrator showing how a system for measuring large volumes could work. This has then been evaluated from a technical perspective by having a sensor mounted above a pile. Sensor data was sent via 4G modem to the cloud-based solution developed by the project and there is a simpler interface to visualize this data. At the end of the project there is a request from an industrial party to install a system and dialogue is ongoing with more parties. Dialogue around more applications based on this specific sensor will be initiated.
Approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Initially, the project made good progress and was prioritized by all parties. In the middle of the project, we lost momentum as different people changed jobs and large investments with some of the process industry players stole focus. It also took longer to secure access to the sensor than we expected. In retrospect, we might have taken a sensor that was available. Once we got hold of a sensor, the project regained momentum. We were able to carry out tests with that of all industrial players except SCA who had a full time with getting a new paper machine in place.
