Important results from the project
The project fulfilled the purpose: To suggest an innovative technique that describes digitizing, integrating and automating of condition based maintenance (CBM), and Project goal: To develop a conceptual model that describes digitizing, integrating and automating CBM steps; data gathering - analysis/diagnosis - condition prediction - estimation of time to maintenance - action execution. Also, to provide a clear description of system construction, functions and advantages over existing maintenance systems. The description should also support the development of a prototype.
Expected long term effects
Result: A conceptual model (Intelligent Maint-CPS) for automatic control of rotating machine condition (e.g. turbine, gearbox, CNC), start-stop, speed and lubrication especially in inaccessible, e.g. radioactive, areas independent of branch. It will automatically detect damage, diagnose and predict condition, assess time to action and execute actions. For actions that are not automatically done, e.g. work orders will be generated. Effect: It will reduce failure risk and energy consumption, increase productivity, prolong production time/machine life and increase profit.
Approach and implementation
The project is conducted through: - Literature survey to explore similar problems/solutions - Identifying industry needs and system specifications - Developing the conceptual model Intelligent Maint-CPS - Describing system construction, functions and advantages - Industrial verification We combined existing systems for measuring, diagnosis and lubrication to develop an innovative system with more impact on production continuity via digitizing, integrating and automating whole CBM process; data gathering - analysis/diagnosis - report/work order - maintenance actions.
