Important results from the project
The aim of the CALIS project is to develop a cloud-based Internet of Things platform for data collection and exchange between different systems, applications, machines and sensors in the agricultural sector. The CALIS platform connects technologies and results from industrial automation, IoT and agricultural technologies. It contains an IoT Resource Catalogue to allow management and tracking of the available Internet of Things resources that can deliver data about the physical world and allows integration of structured SQL data with time series related data from No-SQL storage.
Expected long term effects
CNet will exploit the Calis results in several ways. Together with Novitek we will offer the IoT-enabled cloud platform as a service targeting the Nordic agriculture and food production sector. Furthermore, we have extended the LinkSmart Open Source middleware with specific libraries to target food product traceability application developers. We have made several presentations of the project results which have generated interest form potential customers and partners. We expect to be able to have CALIS-related products on the market during 2016.
Approach and implementation
The project has followed its plan and budget. Collaboration between the partners have worked well, and the exploitation opportunities are good.
