Important results from the project

The project applied existing but new technology and modern payment solutions for city walks on distance. The project carried out 23 guided live city tours (the goal was 15) using different technical solutions for measuring feasibility, willingness to pay and user value. The walks have involved staff from the City Museum as well as guides and thousands of spectators. One direct effect is the the city museum will add the digital dimension of exhibitions all ready at the idea stage. Dissemination seminars for the museum ownership sector have been well attended.

Expected long term effects

The project has mainly had two target groups. In "testing phase" we had several sub audience groups due to types of tour, sometimes it has been nursing homes, and other times graffiti fans. In the dissimination phase, the target group has been professionals in both public and private sector working with internet-related development issues primarily at museums. We have produced a couple “technology package” that suits the conditions of the museum sector. We know that Spritmuseum has already purchased such a package to increase the quality of its digital displays.

Approach and implementation

The evaluation of the project´s working hypothesis about what would be a qualitative and cost-effective solution for live-guided tours was based on a large matrix. Through a systematic work trying various techniques for input, steady-cam walks, 360 camera etc. Various distribution channels were tried out such as Youtube and Zoom. We had links behind pay-walls and did free screening. In all the project has identified three well defined formats and a couple of technology packages that support the delivery of the format for which we know that the audience has a willingness to pay.
