Important results from the project
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The collaboration between Drive Swedens members and the Viable cities through Klimatsmart Mobilitet 2030 has resulted in 10 joint project so far. Among other things, new applications of AI technology to make behaviors, resource utilization and new ways of measuring needs and goal fulfillment visible. The collaboration has made visible great opportunities for more efficient resource utilization of existing resources. How financial savings can lead to major climate savings and how AI-aggregated data can create more efficient measurement methods.
Expected long term effects
AI technology and machine learning have been applied to municipal challenges, and one effect can be to make visible old unsolved problems that were previously difficult to gain insight into. For example, actual occupancy in the mobility system or what the traffic safety situation looks like for active mobility and micro mobility. The collaboration between digital technology and practical municipal problems have good conditions for working together so that the Cities will reach their objectives and for Sweden to take a leading role in digital technology in line with the parties´ goals.
Approach and implementation
The efforts have worked best when focus has been on clear and selected areas of need where experts have set the agenda but where the questions have been kept simple. An important aspect to make needs and results visible. Going forward, a good way of working can be more of experts together with problem owners to develop qualitative projects and insights and rely less on calls for proposals. A method that within this project has given the clearest results and has been resource efficient. Sometimes focus areas have become too generic and objectives have been lost in complex system descriptions
