Controlling scaling in plate heat exchangers by the use of thin coatings

Important results from the project

The purposes of the application for the planning grant was to visit NanoHydrophobics with the goal to see their scaling test lab, their obtained results on coated plates and to discuss future cooperation. All of the above has been achieved.

Expected long term effects

The result of the visit led to a better understanding of their scaling tests and of their coating. An international cooperation between Alfa Laval and NanoHydrophobics will be continued and the possibility to apply for the VINMER Industry Outgoing was discussed.

Approach and implementation

The implementation of the project was performed in accordance with the proposal. This included a visit to NanoHydrophobis and a better understanding of their scaling set-ups. A possible project application to VINMER Industry Outgoing was also discussed.
