Important results from the project

Consupedia has built a Wikipedia for the consumer. A web and mobile application that provides instant information about all the groceries on the market. A unique decision support for valuation-driven consumption. Over 170,000 food products are analyzed and categorized in the database and in-depth information is both easily accessible and easily understandable. Our service is used today by municipalities, schools, restaurants and private individuals, but still as a BETA version.

Expected long term effects

We have succeeded in providing information to increase the consumer´s ability to contribute to the desired development through his choice of consumption. Consupedia will never be completed but is constantly in a phase of development and improvement, however, the ability to lead a consumer towards a value-driven consumption is very high today and the goals for the development of the service have been met and passed. There has been great interest in the service and we see great opportunities to steer society´s consumption towards a sustainable future.

Approach and implementation

We have used digital tools to communicate over long distances as the group is spread across the country. It has proven to work well, but maybe we should have met in person more often to weld the group together more. In retrospect, risk analysis should have focused more on analyzing and finding conflicting interests and to a lesser extent focusing on critical mass and the severity of the tech solutions. After completion of the service, we have largely been hailed but also met resistance from some stakeholders where information that increases transparency is not always welcome.
