Important results from the project
The project´s main aim are to show real examples of new user experiences through connected fashion, how brands can generate new forms of revenue sources even after sales, and through analysis and knowledge transfer accelerate the industry´s development towards a circular, sustainable industry. Objective is to take the fashion industry in a clear step towards a circular industry by breaking down some of the major barriers in the ecosystem so far, and developing concrete concepts and insights for how the industry can develop into an experience-based industry.
Expected long term effects
The result of the project is to set up a Digital Fashion Accelerator. NFC tags have been implemented in different types of garments produced by two Swedish fashion brands. To contribute to transparency and information about the value chain, an app has been created, where product information can be reported. Brands with NFC-tagged products are given the opportunity to share transparent product information and the consumer receives information about the entire value chain. Digital workshops have also been held for those working in the fashion and textile industry.
Approach and implementation
1. An Digital Fashion Accelerator, has been created with the aim of acting as an incubator for innovation in the fashion industry. 2. assessment has been made that an ID marking is required, where NFC tags are currently a solution. A matrix has been developed for how NFC tags are to be implemented. An app has been created to make the information available. 3. Pga Corona has conducted two digital workshops for those working in the industry, instead of a large-scale test. 4. Two brands have implemented NFC tags in selected garments.
