Important results from the project
The purpose and objective was to demonstrate a low-noise transistor-based microwave amplifier with less than 0.1 milliwatt power consumption adapted for quantum computer systems. This objective was met.
Expected long term effects
The research has provided knowledge about the significance of the material structure for the noise which has been used by the company in its production. The project resulted in a prototype amplifier module which will provide the company with the necessary knowledge and technology for decisions on future production and commercialization in the international quantum computer market. The company has shown strong growth during the project.
Approach and implementation
The two parties have executed the following workpackages WP1 Quantum HEMT development WP2 Quantum LNA Design WP3 Quantum LNA Fabrication WP4 Module Prototyping. WP5 Test qubit readout could not be implemented but is planned to be done after the project.
