Important results from the project
The goal was to help collaboration projects with methods for handling legal issues as early as possible so that the projects can be carried out in accordance with legislation and to avoid legal pitfalls. The project has increased the understanding of the need for support efforts and systematic changes. A method for handling legal issues in relation to data management before, during and after innovation projects have been developed. Through monitoring new EU legislations, regulatory sandboxes have been identified as a future work tool for testing new concepts in a secure environment.
Expected long term effects
The project has brought together a number of actors who have identified legal challenges in data-driven innovation projects. Through roundtable discussions and seminars, desirable support efforts have been identified and the level of knowledge increased among the participants. A method for identifying and managing risks in collaboration projects has been developed and tested on 3 innovation projects. The method will be further developed. A strategic analysis identified regulatory sandboxes as interesting to evaluate further.
Approach and implementation
Round table discussions and interviews were conducted to analyze challanges and identify needs for support and systematic changes. A method for managing legal risks was developed and tested on 3 innovation projects. Monitoring of upcoming AI and data related legislation was carried out and communicated. A workshop series was conducted to spread knowledge about various legal aspects.
