Call Innovative collaborations with the USA in XR - step 1

Important results from the project

COLLIDE-XR successfully achieved its goal of connecting with US XR companies to enhance XR accessibility for the Swedish industry. These collaborations will improve the roadmap for integrating XR into businesses and driving sustainable innovation. A partner is engaged in the Step 2 application, and other collaborations were initiated with companies and universities in the US. The interaction with fellow participants in the call revealed shared interests and additional opportunities.

Expected long term effects

The experience in Silicon Valley expanded BTH´s network, opening future opportunities involving partners in the US and Sweden across industry, academia, and businesses in the XR field. Our new collaborations will boost the capabilities of our visualisation infrastructure - the Virtual Production Studio Lab - facilitating knowledge sharing and transfer between academic and industrial actors. This also contributes to establishing a national community of XR researchers and professionals.

Approach and implementation

The project was carried out by planning and scheduling meetings with potential partners beforehand and by taking part in other organized networking events and visits. The intended collaboration for step 2 was initiated and developed as expected, with the support of our local network and its interest in XR innovation. Additional unexpected opportunities provided by Vinnova and other participants in the call contributed to the successful outcomes of the project.
