Important results from the project
Thenational project has constructed and validated a tool for electronic informed consent to use in clinical diabetes drug study, and stimulated pediatric diabetes research. Our continuous project in Stockholm, AP2, has aimed at doing diabetes care more individually- and evidence-based. For this purpose we have constructed, in collaboration with Telia, a digital e-health application, Telia Home Care. Using this in primary health has shown improved diabetes control and satisfaction of both patients and diabetes care staff,
Expected long term effects
The use of Telia Home Care as a digital appliction in a number of type 2 diabetic patients in primary care, showed after 3-4 weeks improved blood glucose control. Thus, HbA1c decreased from 60,4 +- 1,1 to 51,8 +- 2,1 mmol/mol (p<0,001). in addition, the use enhanced satisfaction of care among both patients and staff.>0,001).>
Approach and implementation
The work project AP2 was performed at 2 primary care centers, Kista and LIljeholmen, in Region Stockholm. Samples to monitor blood glucose control were monitored initially and at the project end as well as 4 weeks thereafter. Both participating patients and staff were interviewed, and resulting quantitative data were published 2021 in the journal Sustainability.
