Purpose and goal

The automotive industry seeks to reduce environmental impact without compromising quality. The CMF Circularity AI project leverages AI and customer insights to select sustainable Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) options. Goals include reducing the carbon footprint by 25%, waste by 20%, time-to-market by 30%, and achieving 90% customer satisfaction. This initiative sets new standards for eco-friendly vehicle design by enhancing efficiency and promoting circularity.

Expected effects and result

Efficiently select sustainable materials that align with customer quality preferences. Reduce environmental impact by using eco-friendly materials without compromising expectations. Gain deeper insights into customer perceptions to boost acceptance of eco-friendly vehicles. The CMF Circularity AI sets new standards for sustainable automotive design by using AI to integrate Color, Material, and Finish with circular principles, enhancing inclusivity and minimizing environmental impacts.

Planned approach and implementation

Over a 12-month pre-study, the CMF Circularity AI project defines circularity and sustainability criteria, gathers customer quality insights, integrates them into a generative AI for optimal material selection, and creates a development roadmap. This groundwork enables an AI tool that aligns circular economy principles with customer expectations for sustainable automotive design.
