Important results from the project
The project objective was to increase the accessibility of the test and demonstration facility SICS-ICE, especially for small and medium sized enterprises and academia. Experiences from the RISE ToD (Test och Demonstration) project should be used in adaptation. The project has performed planned complement of the test environment and experiences from other test beds has been used in the development. Marketing on the web and at events has been very successful. The project has been participating at a number of conferences and trade shows in Sweden and internationally.
Expected long term effects
The project has reached new customers. Researchers in big data, automation, energy, fluidmechanics, control, embedded systems and communication technology from LTU, UMU and KTH have started to use the facility. Companies active in these technology areas are also participating in projects or use our offerings. Active SMEs are among others Arctoslabs, Netrounds, BnearIT, Mobilaris, Eitech, Hi5, Siemon, DCT, Neava, SEECooling. A special workshop on the use of Hadoop as a Service for SME:s with about 30 participants was carried out. During the spring of 2016 the facility had 200 visits.
Approach and implementation
Activities in the project: 1. Planning of measurement data investment and complementing of the environment for new actors was done according to plan. 2. Installation and commission for local use for new partners made the test facility more accessible. 3. Development and test of web service for new users at distance was done where database access to measurement data need more development to improve security. 4. Description of service for education was prepared and a workshop was done. 5. Information spreading to users via web and trade shows was performed with good results.
