Important results from the project

The project has shown how a distributed control system environment can be designed with sites both locally and in the cloud. From a security perspective we have created an environment that is reliable even if the cloud connection temporarily disappears. For the process industry, this environment is an interesting example of how future control systems can be configured, but another interesting result is the interest of third parties and industry in this kind of testing and development environment. In addition we have also delivered 5 integrations and certification requirements.

Expected long term effects

An expected effect of the project was that we would create a larger ecosystem of suppliers and new collaborations, which we have seen during the project period. Our project results in the form of a test environment will survive after the project time in the SALLP project, which is very positive. Our project partners also testify to an interest from outside the consortium for their developed prototypes for integration.

Approach and implementation

The project has been implemented as an agile project where we subsequently evaluated and planned the remaining time and resources. In comparison with the application, the configuration of the test environment has taken longer than estimated, as it turned out there were technical difficulties that we could not predict. In the project, the parties have worked relatively freely with their integrations, where we physically met for status reporting and education twice a year.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
