Important results from the project

The project´s goals were largely achieved, but follow-up and implementation were challenging. An unexpected "return effect" showed that organizations reverted to physical meetings more than expected, limiting the ability to fully test remote leadership. Nevertheless, a guidebook and checklists were developed and are now used in organizations and education. The project also resulted in scientific articles and conference contributions, enhancing knowledge of leadership in digital environments.

Expected long term effects

The project is expected to enhance sustainable remote leadership and hybrid work through adapted strategies and technical solutions. Research on trust and proximity may shape leadership training and help managers build strong relationships. The guidebook and scientific articles spread knowledge and support education. Long-term, the project can drive digital transformation and create a more sustainable work environment with improved conditions for remote leadership.

Approach and implementation

The project largely followed its plan, including data collection, guidebook development, and dissemination of results. However, delays occurred, especially in follow-up on interventions, and an unexpected "return effect" led many organizations back to physical meetings, impacting implementation. The timeline was adjusted, and some phases were extended. External factors, such as limited availability of stakeholders and shifting organizational priorities, affected the follow-up of interventions.
