Important results from the project
Results show a strong commitment from a large global company to meet the sustainability regulation. Significant resources are invested to identify information gaps and integrate environmental and economic objective. A new division for sustainability reporting is established, new hires and external consultants have been hired. We identify obstacles and conflicts of interest in how the regulation can be implemented at both strategic and operational levels, especially in the value chain.
Expected long term effects
Results from the project have strengthened collaboration between project participants, companies and national and international actors. This has potential for future long-term work in terms of developing the conditions for climate-neutral and circular business models and products in industrial companies in connection with new sustainability policies at different levels.
Approach and implementation
The project is based on roundtable discussions, workshops and interviews with central actors at a large global industrial company. Meetings have been held on site at the company, the Gothenburg School of Economics and at teams. Internal and external documentation has been collected from the company.
Dialogue has been held with policy actors from other companies through Executive Faculty, BFN, FAR, Svensk Näringsliv and EFRAG as well as students, national and international researchers.
