Important results from the project
The aim of this study was to develop a model for cleaning work with a high degree of participation and autonomy, and lift it into a more general context that can be spread to other municipalities and businesses. Our model is documented in the report, ´Cleaning as intrapreneurship - Experiences from a development project in Piteå Municipality´ ( Öhrling 2014).
Expected long term effects
The model we have developed will be implemented in three other municipal organizations in Luleå, Boden and Kalix. If we succeed the project can result in a general model for how to organize cleaning as intrapreneurship, a model that hopefully will inspire other municipal sectors to similar forms of organization.
Approach and implementation
In each municipality, we start with an inventory of problems in the form of interviews, questionnaires and a number of workshops where the cleaning staff themselves analyse their problems and opportunities. Based on this cleaners form a vision for how to organize and develop their work and work environment. In the project´s final phase results should be generalized to a model for ´the good cleaning work´.
