Important results from the project
A hypothesis to be proved here is to study if oxides with optimised properties can be used to reduce friction during forming. We will examine the possibilities to produce and sell steel sheets with a low friction film comprising of designed oxides. For this purpose the effect of oxide types, oxide mixtures and textures for tribological performance needs to be studied. Life cycle costs and sustainability aspects for products manufactured with this alternative and with the use of todays lubricants are studied for decision judgements when concerning the production route in the future.
