Important results from the project

Aims of the CitizMap project were as follows: 1) Improved and flexible environment for users to easily find information of their interest, 2) Imporved interregional cooperation between project partners, 3) Strengthened linkages in partner universities and between private and public sectors, strengthening and extending exisisting shared competence, 4) Increased awareness of public administrators about the demanded data. First three aims were completed successfully, fouth aim will be released after application is open to public to use and reveal its preferences.

Expected long term effects

The application reduces the gaps in presentation of statistical data, is efficiently analysed and ready to be open to public. Interregional partnership strengthened the cooperation and knowledge between partners. Results include ready reports in wide set of themes for non-expert users and comprehensice application for expert users meeting both needs.

Approach and implementation

Design of the application is user-friendly, easy to use and according to modern standards. Data is displayed on the maps (if relevant), on different graphs, charts and diagrams upon user convenince. Filters are readily changed according to needed specifications. The release of the application is expected to be in early October after added user and liability terms and video casts. The live test will be running through November and will be updated and corrected if needed. The hosting and administration contracts have been prepared.
