Important results from the project

Workshops and dialogues with citizens in the involved districts (Forsåker and Biskopsgården) and the project consortium resulted in several design principles for socially sustainable mobility hubs. These principles integrate property developers´ perspectives with citizens´ mobility routines, goals, and needs. Existing services supporting travel and transport needs were identified, and discussions with providers highlight opportunities to adapt these services to the developed principles.

Expected long term effects

The design of mobility services is often technology-driven, risking the neglect of citizens’ daily routines, needs, and social values. This project addressed these aspects through co-creation methods, generating shared ideas and concepts based on both expert and citizen knowledge. In doing so, we have contributed to alternative approaches for designing, developing, and evaluating sustainable mobility solutions to ensure they are inclusive, equitable, and fair.

Approach and implementation

Meetings, dialogues, and co-creation workshops with experts and citizens were central to the project´s structure and implementation. Key contacts were established within the districts, and these relationships, along with visits, were crucial for engaging citizens and local organizations. Reaching future residents of Forsåker was challenging, but similar methods were applied on a smaller scale. We also engaged in dialogue with related projects, sharing knowledge and experiences.
