Call | Increased resource efficiency, industry funding to a circular economy |
Purpose and goal
Contribute to the transformation of the construction industry from linear production to circular products and material flows with a focus on prefabricated elements in concrete. Use demolition objects as a resource bank, i.e. "urban mining", through the reuse of products and recycling of materials. Enable efficient and environmentally friendly circular construction with prefabricated elements through e.g. design for de-construction. Strengthen the competitiveness of the manufacturing industry in the transition. Ensure competence for the transition.
Expected effects and result
The project will contribute to: 1. Reduced amounts of waste from building industry 2. Extended life of products 3. Increased circulation of products 4. Reduced extraction of new raw materials 5. Reduced emissions 6. Socially sustainable construction industry 7. Contribute to the preservation of natural environments and reduced societal costs 8. Internationally competitive construction industry
Planned approach and implementation
The project links actors along a product´s value chain from extraction/ separation of raw materials (Sika separation machine ReCO2ver) to manufacturing/ reuse of circular products (Strängbetong) and planning with these products within actual dismantling projects and new construction (Henning Larsen and Ramboll). Together we can create a circular and resource-efficient flow in the construction industry with prefabricated concrete elements as an example. The focus will be on technology, products, and services as well as business models and support during procurement.
