Purpose and goal
The Digital Product Passport is an important mechanism for collaboration with stakeholders in the value chain and using sustainability data in the early product development phase. CADCOD aims to create a circular collaborative framework for early development work, which includes guidelines and methodology, to explore and invest in circular solutions. This can prepare the automotive industry for co-developed circular solutions making use of the transparency and traceability of sustainability-related product information throughout the product life cycle and value chain.
Expected effects and result
Expected result is a framework, with guidelines and methodology, which enables collaboration in the value chain for sustainable and circular solutions. The project will contribute to increased knowledge and expertise about data-driven circular product development, as well as validation of methods and tools for collaboration towards sustainable and circular solutions with partners in the value chain. One main goal is a full-scale research and demo project proposal, where standardization initiatives for data-driven sustainable product development have been identified.
Planned approach and implementation
The project has four WPs. In WP1, current and expected practices to form business scenarios, analyzing needs, and validating alternatives, will be compiled from interviews and workshops. In WP2, results from a literature study will be compiled into a framework proposal for common solutions of sustainable and circular products in the value chain. In WP3, intelligence studies are compiled, and a consortium is created for a full-scale research and demo project. In WP 4, project management and activities to publish results through scientific publications and conferences take place.
