Important results from the project
To contribute to a fast and efficient incubation process. To carry out company-specific verification activities to streamline business development in the companies. Goal - companies that receive verification funds reach market/customer verification faster - companies that receive verification funds have been in contact with more customers than otherwise - companies that receive verification funds have tested the hypotheses outside Sweden - more companies will have the opportunity to verify their concepts Chalmers Ventures assesses that all targets have been exceeded by far.
Expected long term effects
Between 2016 and 2020, Chalmers Ventures evaluated and continuously coached 104 verification projects with companies in the incubator. A total of SEK 14 million has been paid out to 67 companies. 70% of the companies have developed well or very well.
Approach and implementation
Chalmers Ventures has used established processes to decide on verification projects. Follow-up of the verification projects has taken place weekly within the framework of the regular coaching activities in the incubator. All verification projects are documented with an application, a decision protocol and a final report. We assess that the effect of the verification funds has been very large for the incubator companies. However, for us as an incubator the administration of the fund has been relatively extensive.
