Important results from the project

InfraSweden2030 has the specific mission to help VINNOVA achieve the goal of a competitive transport infrastructure by the year 2030 in Sweden. One part of this is to arrange innovation competitions to stimulate multidisciplinary collaboration and speed up the process of creating innovative solutions. The project conducted a third innovation competition in the InfraAwards series. The innovation competition´s aim to develop solutions for faster development of the transport infrastructure was fulfilled.

Expected long term effects

The competition challenge was based on InfraSweden2030´s latest call for proposals and provided solutions that promote carbon neutral infrastructure, and weighed in aspects such as the possibility of implementation, use of transport infrastructure, positive impact on the environment and climate, and market potential. The competition challenge started from the needs of owners and exemplified in the proposal. The winner receives further support from InfraSweden2030 to refine their submitted idea and concretize it in a project application for further funding.

Approach and implementation

The project conducted a third innovation competition in the InfraAwards series. The competition´s challenge was based on InfraSweden2030´s latest call for proposals and provided solutions that promote climate-neutral infrastructure and weighed aspects such as the possibility of implementation, benefits for transport infrastructure, positive impact on the environment & climate and market potential. Competition entries were submitted and finalists and final winner were selected by the competition jury. The jury consisted of business, academia and the public sector.
