Important results from the project
The project used housing modules developed in the project Smart Housing Småland (SHS) aiming to exploratively examine the innovative design solutions. The project used the full-scale modules produced under SHS as a meeting space but also as an object and subject for critical analyses. The objective is to investigate for whom today´s housing is designed and how it affects the future possible accommodation. One aim that is still to fulfil is to meet with representatives for the local building industry as workshop participants.
Expected long term effects
The project is problem oriented with method development as the main objective. The project did explorative examination of the innovative design solutions developed in the project Smart Housing Småland (SHS). The project used the full-scale SHS-modules as a meeting space but also as an object and subject for critical analyses for the future accommodation.
Approach and implementation
The project built on results from previous studies on design related to genderaspects but explores the unique possibilities of the real life experience of inhabiting the modules with thoughts. A critical intersectional perspective was used as a background for the analyses. The project invited artists, designers and gender researchers. The modules enabled full-scale analysis in workshop form on the basis of participants´ situated individual experiences.
