Important results from the project

Within the project, a number of prototypes have been developed and tested with a leading Swedish industry. These experiments showed good thermal performance for the technology as well as unpredicted potential to save cost and energy through reduced fan capacity. This property leads to wider areas of application than initially assumed. Several customer organizations have been met and two new projects have been initiated to raise the technology towards TRL 6.

Expected long term effects

The technical achievements reached during the project have been valuable both for validating the functionality of the technology in practice and to create an interest at customer organisations. Without these results and the meetings enabled by the project, the two new projects (towards data centers and avionics, respectively) would probably not have been initiated. Further, a patent application have been submitted and a student project performed. The student project used the technical results to identify relevant market segments and develop market segments.

Approach and implementation

The project was split into three work packages which has been carried out in parallel. The work package “Patent application” was finalized early in the project and has since then been holding while waiting for response from PRV. The other two work packages, “Experimental validation” and “Market validation” has been running parallel throughout the project where the former had higher intensity in the beginning of the project and the latter in the end of the project.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
