Important results from the project
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The purpose of the design phase was to understand how the idea of a system demonstrator should be understood and applied in Gothenburg so that it can contribute as constructively as possible to climate change in the city. From this perspective, the work that has been carried out has been very successful as it has provided a strong foundation for the city to take the next step.
Expected long term effects
Central lessons learned: - a truly system-changing ambition presupposes new forms of governance and decision-making - such new governance and decision-making in turn leads to new requirements on competencies and new institutional capacity - this points to the need to develop new areas of collaboration, with academia, business and public institutions at regional and state level - long-term stability in these new areas of cooperation partially requires new knowledge processes of both inter-disciplinary and trans-disciplinary nature
Approach and implementation
Two processes have been run: The first has focused on the ongoing development and anchoring work of the city´s climate transition office, which forms the core of the new governance model that has emerged in Gothenburg as a results of the climate contract. The other has focused on further developing a conceptual basis for a system demonstrator in Gothenburg and gradually giving this a practical form, in terms of WHAT kind of efforts need to be made on the ground and HOW such efforts can be prepared and integrated into the city´s broader control and decision-making processes.
