Important results from the project
The aim of this project is to investigate the possibility of using 3D models streamline field work in the property formation operations. The study proposes a project involving the application of 3D models that support to about 30-50 property formation cases to apply the working methods and measure commercial results in the production with real cases.
Expected long term effects
Based on available data there is sufficient information to create a -1 m grid. With a maximum data quality at 1 meter resolution and legislation that mark on the ground normally applies, is, however the overall efficiency gains and small to do more field work from the desktop. The potential will primarily be in reducing travel and field visits in order to perform the inspection.
Approach and implementation
The study was conducted over a pilot area´Högdalen´ in Dals Ed. Within the pilot area available data have been processed to generate 3D models with the highest available quality information and this built a demo application based on a game engine for 3D. Based on the demo application the project have studied possible approaches to streamline field work and this has been the basis of the benefit analysis. A situational analysis was also carried out and, together with benefit analysis landed in a recommendation for further work.
