Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to establish a network of contacts within various qualified milieus, including governmental, forestry, university and research institute, as well as continue my personal academic qualification. The goal was to build a cooperation on increasing the knowledge about browsing damage in production forest and create a basis for a future academic career. The purpose and goal have been met and will continue to generate results and additional partnerships in the future.
Expected long term effects
In addition to the above mentioned effects, including thematic research advancements and contributions to new knowledge, individual academic qualification and development of network for future collaborations, all of which are of great significance for my future research career, additional important effects have followed during the VINNMER project, such as my permanent employment and a project management of the national wildlife browsing survey. The outcome of my VINNMER project has thus exceeded the expectations.
Approach and implementation
Design and implementation in the form of a close collaboration with two of my qualifying environments, the Swedish Forest Agency and Sveaskog, have been very favorable. All contacts have worked well and the project has largely been completed as planned. I am convinced that it is a great way to work together with a network of stakeholders in this kind of applied research projects and I have a definite feeling that the network will continue to be beneficial for my career for a long time.
