Important results from the project
The purpose of this project was to: (1) Together with an industrial actor develop a Proof-Of-Concept to verify innovation-market-fit. (2) Verify as far as possible the industrial process both internally and the process steps to be outsourced. (3) Verify the market interest for the current application. (4) Take the project to a position where it is possible to raise venture capital to take the project further. All 4 areas have been met.
Expected long term effects
A successful POC together with Verisure has resulted in a decision that they will start producing a solar-integrated product. Thanks to this project, we have been able to launch a number of additional POCs with other potential customers and have been able to raise our first capital Expected effects of the project are that a new industry is being built up in Sweden within organic solar cells, starting with energy supply of low-power electronics and with the potential to offer large-scale production of a unique cost- and resource-efficient solar cell in future phases.
Approach and implementation
The projekt structure and implementation have been based on clear goals in four stages that have been set up in consultation with Vinnova´s administrator and Vinnova´s external coach with a related industrial background. The target goals have been revised after each stage and after half of the project a major pivotation was made, in which a new business case and a new industrial partner were introduced. We have received very important input through the external coach related to our industrial process description. The project has met all the objectives we set up with the project.
