Important results from the project

The project focused on developing a strong consortium to create a competitive proposal for Horizon 2020- the call for proposals HORIZON-CL6-2024-FARM2FORK-01-4, which focuses on "Climate change and food safety: effects of climate change on food safety across food systems." As coordinator, RISE successfully led the application process for the Climate Change and Food Safety Analytics (CIFSA) project, which enabled the creation of a multidisciplinary platform and ensured a strong Swedish representation among the consortium´s partners.

Expected long term effects

The project has broadened the understanding of climate impacts on food safety and strengthened Sweden´s position as a prominent player in international research and development in this area. Through a strategic approach, with early collaborative initiatives, internal workshops and careful planning, a well-founded and comprehensive proposal was designed and implemented. The multidisciplinary consortium delivered innovative solutions to effectively address the challenges of climate change in food security, highlighting the project´s relevance to the call.

Approach and implementation

The project´s structure and implementation were carefully adapted to address the impact of climate change on food safety in accordance with to the call. The initial phase included strategic collaborative initiatives, bringing together a multidisciplinary consortium of experts from different fields. This was followed by a series of internal workshops with the aim of promoting collaboration between participants and refining the project´s objective and methods. Regular reviews and feedback ensured that proposal remained in line with their objective and were competitive.
