Important results from the project

Throughout the project, we have contributed to increased entrepreneurship, increased employment, reduced segregation, increased growth, increased turnover, created more role models in the suburbs, and provided start-up support for individuals, new arrivals and women in areas of exclusion. We have created a base in Järva and scaled up BLING to Västerås, Uppsala and Örebro in areas with high exclusion.

Expected long term effects

Through our work packages we have contributed to increased entrepreneurship, expanded BLING´s network in and outside Stockholm, created more role models (major focus on female role models), increased the inflow of cases, made available the opportunity to get help starting a business and reaching more women and new arrivals. Self-sufficiency, mentorship and gender equality plans have been developed. We have improved routines, sustainability strategies, platforms for interaction aimed at improving the starting point for new business opportunities and economic growth.

Approach and implementation

BLING´s quality assurance system has been developed through follow-up of results, analysis and review of goals and conditions, planning, implementation and documentation. Through our own IT systems, we have ensured the quality of the business in order to achieve our goals. Partnerships with private and public sector players have been necessary to achieve the desired results.
