Important results from the project

The goal was to provide decision support to launch Amase, Cedress or Thermoseed in the Brazilian market for plant production. The products are environmentally friendly alternatives to chemical pesticides. We believe that the project goal is met. With support from the project (pre-study), we decided to continue to start a project with our Brazilian project partners to; verify the product effects, transfer technology for production in Brazil, registration of products and initiating marketing activities.

Expected long term effects

A market survey regarding three product concepts which can led to reduced chemical pesticide and fertilizer use has been done; 1. AMASE as a plant stimulator of sugar cane cuttings. 2. THERMOSEED as a seed treatment against nematode infections in grass seeds 3. CEDRESS/CERALL as a biopesticide in cereals. Our conclusions are: Partnerships is established. There is a huge market and potential. The products fit very well in Brazil. Positive impact on environment and man can be achived. Production must be set up in Brazil. Registration is necessary. Product evaluation is necessary.

Approach and implementation

The project included, in addition to the project owner two Brazilian companies with origins in Europe and CBC at SLU in Sweden. A project plan was sent to project members for comments. Different responsibilities was divided between the project participants. The results were reported continuously to the project manager. Meetings were held on two occasions in Sweden and other meetings by phone or Skype. BioAgri visited Brazil on one occasion to meet the Brazilian companies and establish a deeper collaboration.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
