Important results from the project
The use of bio-based materials as an absorbent could replace a large proportion of absorbents from fossil sources, such as polyacrylic acid, polyacrylamide, polyvinyl alcohol. An important parameter in this project was to evaluate the economic feasibility of the production of the materials. According to our calculations, the manufactured cellulose-based materials are twice as expensive as the commercial products.
Expected long term effects
The hypothesis we had hoped for did not hold.
Approach and implementation
We have carried out a large number of lab tests and economic analyzes as well as various types of material runs and analyzes.
