Important results from the project
The objective of the first step of the project was to lay a solid foundation for a project that will create a system solution capable of transferring broad knowledge, bridging obstacles and implementing bicycle promotion planning aimed at increasing physical activity and public health. The objective has been achieved for all sub-projects through a careful external monitoring which gave a good picture of the most important actors as well as a deeper understanding of the problem picture and the sub-solution. In workshops, the problem picture and solutions were discussed with the actors.
Expected long term effects
The expected results and effects have largely been met. Certain sub-solutions have been redesigned after step 1 as a result of both external monitoring and workshops with actors and problem owners, both of which contributed to a deeper understanding of the problem picture and sub-solutions. The interest from the invited actors to participate in the next step was good, although not all actors have the opportunity to set aside time to participate, they welcome the implementation of the project and welcome the results.
Approach and implementation
Our setup with an initial external monitoring and reading of scientific literature turned out to be a good arrangement because it generated both new actors, new knowledge and in-depth questions. These three elements were then taken to a thematic workshop where the issues were discussed together with important actors who at the same time gained greater involvement in the project. One part of the workshop was a SWOT exercise where a simpler market analysis could be performed together with actors and problem owners.
