Important results from the project

The project has aimed to describe a business and collaboration model for the sustainable city logistics of the future for the city´s material and goods flows, in every part of the circular process. The hypothesis is that the city has an important and leading role as an enabler, and orchestrator, for such a collaboration model and associated system solution. The project has had six deliverables 1. Process Mapping 2. State of the art 3. System Design of Open Digital Platform 4. Design of physical solution 5. Actor identification 6. Business model

Expected long term effects

The project´s system solution and the challenges it faces can be described in a number of levels that must be met in order to become a reality, where the decisive level is the location´s conditions and the city´s commitment and support. This challenge is extensive as cities have very extensive and complex activity-dependencies, established processes but lack of influence over large parts of the value chain. The project has not identified the conditions to proceed in Barkarbystaden. However, the results from the project are generalizable and can be used in other cities and districts.

Approach and implementation

The project has consisted of the project parties and the location´s actors (real estate companies, retail and service companies) who met regularly in project meetings and in workshops. The project has used workshops as a work method. A total of three large physical workshops have been carried out on site. The project has also made study visits to current city logistics solutions within the framework of Älskade Stad/Stockholm. Finally, the project has also interviewed project partners and site actors individually before workshops and for data collection
