Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to establish new collaborations with strategic partners in the battery technology space. The overall goal was a technical and economic feasibility study, to identify strategic stakeholders that could develop a battery pack for electric motorcycles and mopeds. The findings include identification of stakeholders, relationship building and feasibility studies regarding battery applications in two-wheeled vehicles. The plan also contains a platform for calculating revenues and capital needs for future development. The last part is yet to be completed.
Expected long term effects
Early on, we were able to identify and contact the most interesting companies for our application and the project. We have gathered market information and started to collaborate with strategic partners according to the project plan. We are also developing the technical and commercial feasibility study together. The effects of the collaboration are starting to formulate in the form of a joint strategic plan on how to take on previously mentioned manufacturing challenges. We expect this plan to be our foundational platform by the end of Q2 2020.
Approach and implementation
We have prepared a strategic plan for the development of a new battery solution, with the help of an external consultant, Antoine Loiselet. The process entails multiple complicated aspects, which means that the plan is still in the works. We can confirm that a strategic plan like this involves a lot of technical knowledge and work that does not only entail the functionality of the battery itself, but also implementation and manufacturing of the unit. We believe Tarform has done a strong effort to deliver on the objectives and we expect to have the strategic plan ready by end of Q2 2020.
