Important results from the project
The aim with this project is to introduce a Bag of Groceries that will enable elderly people to continue to cook at home. The project goal is to offer a Bag of Groceries for elderly people that is easy to complete in the home environment. The Bag of Groceries will contain three dishes to choose from each week and will be delivered to the home of the customers. The Bag of Groceries is now introduced accordingly to the concept.
Expected long term effects
For the individual food is an important part of life that impacts both on physical and psychological health. The developed concept of the Bag of Groceries is expected to contribute to this through the feeling of increased independence that this bag can give the elderly. To verify the effect of the Bag of Groceries the concept needs to be evaluated over time.
Approach and implementation
During the earlier development phase in this project approximately 30 dishes was developed that seemed appropriate for the Bag of Groceries. In this phase of the project these dishes have been developed further with appropriate packaging and distribution from the municipals kitchen, Vänerkök. Personel have received training to verify the cooking process and to be able to explain the product to the elderly. The reference groups have evaluated the Bag of Groceries and given feedback during the project.
