Important results from the project

Automation Region is a ten-year investment during 2016 - 2025 with the aim of building Automation Region into a significant area of strength in Västmanland and into one of Europe´s leading clusters in automation. We continue to work towards the goal where the Automation Region is for the automation industry what Paris once was for the artist, a place to gather, this is where it happens!

Expected long term effects

Together with collaborating parties, AR, has carried out * 7 pre-projects (e.g. Yumi robot apron manufacturing in the pandemic, Predictive Heat Regulation and iHubs Capacity) * 16 FOI projects (e.g. CompCor, FORT, Tjänsteaffären, Bestellarkompetens Beta and Karakuri) * A total of 1416 unique companies at workshops, expos, lectures, breakfast meetings, etc. * 17 companies have had their needs assessed according to needs analysis level 2 * AR has been a strong contributor to 6 new products or services * 12 companies received support with implementation of strategy for automation

Approach and implementation

The platform on which Automation Region builds its operations is: 1. Innovation Platform: Offer support for current needs but also create conditions 2. Process and Method: Promote and lead the renewal work in the region by meeting short-term expressed needs and longer-term unexpressed needs 3. Automation Technology: Develop technology and system know-how through research and innovation projects In some cases of key figures, the goals have not been achieved (e.g. implementation of IP strategy), which is because the needs for various efforts were not known when the goals were set.
