Important results from the project
The purpose of this project was to develop a new sorting algorithm based on scientific results . In this work we have been assisted by researchers at Chalmers and the result is very good . As milestones we have had a simulation model and a theoretically optimal sorting, those have halso been received from Chalmers. In collaboration with CIT , we have also developed a customer guide that describes the optimization process for our customers.
Expected long term effects
Expected impact of this work is that we can shorten our commissioning times and that we will increase our sales with our new optimal sorting algorithm. The project is recently completed and we have not been able to see these effects yet but have high hopes to see them in the near future .
Approach and implementation
The project has been carried out by us at Robotgrader and and by our collaborators at Chalmers and CIT. We have had regular project meetings to discuss the project status and clarify any ambiguities. This approach has worked well. The advantage of our collaboration with Chalmers is that we have access to their expertise and that the scientists did not need much project management from our side. The downside may be that researchers are reluctant to leave the project ´good enough´. This has resulted in some delays to the project plan, but in return we have a thoroughly investigated algorithm.
