Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The goal has been partly to build a solid knowledge base on how automated journalism can play an important social role, and on the other to develop a prototype for automated newsfeeding and evaluation using a digital "spider" that makes a first sort of digital content in publicly available diaries and register. The project has also been about developing the editors´ ability to use structured models for news evaluation work.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** A working prototype has been developed. The prototype has great potential to be developed and the intention is to continue this project. Proposal to Vinnova to get UDI funding to drive the project, which by all parties is considered to be very successful, was rejected why other ways are now sought to push the project further. The editors involved have developed a solid knowledge of the possibilities and challenges of automation.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Work Package 1 In this first step, the editorial needs for coarse-graining were mapped around news material. An inventory was also made of how municipalities, county councils and the county administrative board in Östergötland are digitally supplying their source material. The third work package tested and evaluated the automated service on the editorial staff. The prototype was integrated into the editorial systems in collaboration with the companies.
