Important results from the project
In this project, we will develop a prototype to demonstrate the generation of perception of targets angle for ASGARD1 radar target simulator. This extra functionality in addition to current capabilities of generation of perception of speed, distance and RCS, will enable ASGARD1 to address all traffic scenarios and several extra use cases.
Expected long term effects
Angle perception generation enables ASGARD1 to create a point cloud for rich traffic scenario simulation. It can enrich the development, debugging, test and verification of automotive radars, radar-based safety functions and autonomous driving.
Approach and implementation
We used an automotive radar development platform to access the raw radar signal. With this radar platform, we will make the channel measurement and required algorithms for direction- of-arrival perception of targets. Automotive partners, provided reasonable and suitable scenario to be tested with angle prototype.
