Important results from the project
The goal of the project was to identify how Sanco AB needs to change their operation in order to meet the requirements of AS9100. Sanco has received a good idea of what is required by the company to achieve the requirements of AS9100 and thereby, in the field of quality, be qualified as a subcontractor to companies in the aerospace industry.
Expected long term effects
The GAP analysis together with the proposed measures have been compiled in a report. The results of the survey will strengthen the opportunities for Sanco to live up to the requirements of AS9100. It is a basic requirement in order to become a supplier to the aerospace industry of components made mainly with advanced machining.
Approach and implementation
The work was carried out through a visit to Sanco (2015-07-01) by Carolina Pettersson and Mats Werke from Swerea IVF, followed by teleconferences and email communication between Sanco and Swerea IVF. On these occasions AS9100C was examined in detail and the gap between the company operation and the requirements of AS9100 was noted. Only the points that differ between AS9100 and ISO 9001: 2008 were reviewed.
