Important results from the project
The goal of the project was to identify what needs to be changed in the quality work in order for MTÖ to become certified according to AS9100 and thus become a supplier to the aerospace sector and companies such as GKN and SAAB Aerospace. MTÖ has together with Swerea IVF analyzed the current operation and compared it with the requirements of AS9100.
Expected long term effects
The conclusion is that MTÖ has a good opportunity to become certified according to AS9100. The results of the survey have increased MTÖ´s knowledge of the requirements of AS9100. The project has helped to facilitate future certification according to AS9100. The project is a first step in future work for MTÖ to become a qualified supplier to the aerospace sector.
Approach and implementation
The task was carried out through a visit to MTÖ (2015-07-02) by Carolina Pettersson and Mats Werke from Swerea IVF, followed by teleconferences and email communication between MTÖ and Swerea IVF. On these occasions AS9100C was examined in detail and the gap between the company operation and the requirements of AS9100 was noted. Only the points that differ between the AS9100 and ISO 9001: 2008 were reviewed. A report has been written and the results have been discussed in several aspects.
