Important results from the project

The overall purpose of the project was to develop knowledge of the outside world´s role and success factors for collaboration arenas based on a focus on the outside world. The knowledge and experience gained in OMAR has been transformed into concrete external-related success factors for arenas and supplemented with "best practice". OMAR has also created increased knowledge about how collaboration arenas can follow up and evaluate goal fulfillment and effects for both external stakeholders and the higher education institution.

Expected long term effects

The OMAR project has provided an opportunity for the exchange of ideas and shed light on the driving forces, content and design of the respective collaboration arenas. It has given the participating higher education institutions an insight into each other´s arenas for collaboration and provided confirmation of their own work, highlighted development opportunities and contributed to valuable lessons about collaboration with external parties. In addition, a report has been written with the identified success factors, and how these have been applied to each arena.

Approach and implementation

Representatives from the higher education institutions met physically eight times and digitally six times. In the spring of 2020, due to the pandemic, the meetings went digital. At the physical meetings, the following higher education institutions were visited: SLU Alnarp, Kristianstad University, Jönköping University and Borås University. During the visits, the university´s collaboration arenas were presented. Meetings have also taken place with other so called K3 projects.
