Important results from the project

The aim of the planning project was to formulate a strong proposal to HORIZON-CL5-2023-D6-01-10, including development of the project idea, identification of new partners and coordination, as well as to cover consultancy costs. The goal was to create a relevant consortium, complete a detailed H2020 proposal for international funding, and accelerate the development of connected transport infrastructure as well as sustainable maintenance, in line with InfraSweden´s focus. All aims and objective have been achieved.

Expected long term effects

A completed and submitted proposal to the call for proposals: HORIZON-CL5-2023-D6-01-10. A consortium with a total of 18 partners was established from five different European countries (Sweden, France, Portugal, Germany and Bulgaria). Expected effects: Advanced traffic safety technology for non-rural roads. Infrastructure monitoring and real-time KPI communication. Safe traffic conditions for CVs. Smart infrastructure concept with measurable benefits. Assessment of upgrades for vehicle type compatibility. New maintenance techniques with low environmental impact.

Approach and implementation

RISE and Zabala Innovation coordinated the consortium´s engagement and the application process. Regular meetings and updates were conducted online to keep all partners informed about the writing process. Work package leaders were appointed for each WP, with continuous dialogue with other partners. Weekly reconciliation meetings, creation of templates, and constructive "workshops" contributed to all partners being involved in the writing of proposal. The planning grant was used for salary costs (RISE) and consulting costs (Zabala) to complete the proposal.
