Important results from the project

The preliminary study has focused on identifying important areas to tackle the challenges in sustainable retail and consumption as well as identifying future actions for a green and fair transition. As part of the work, missions have been drawn up and what is needed in the short and long term to fulfill them. Among other things, a system analysis of intervention areas and actor map has been developed, together with mobilizing actors based on a multihelix collaboration.

Expected long term effects

The project has contributed to actors, who had not previously collaborated, joining together in a major social challenge. These have gained a better understanding of collaboration with support of state funding, Impact Innovation in general and influenced D-Congress 2024 with the theme "Innovation for Impact - a manifestation for circular trade". Furthermore, the project has spread knowledge about the area´s challenge and made visible the need for cooperation in the retail and consumption chain. Two program applications have been formed to II; RE:CORE and Viable Cities 2.0.

Approach and implementation

The focus has been on intended program layout (angles and work model), design of interventions, declaration of intent and partner models as well as anchoring/completion of mission, milestones and intermediate goals. The project´s planned process changed over time as it required considerably more time to secure cash funding than first estimated. This reduced the opportunity to tackle challenging issues such as the design of the program itself in detail and to involve more than the approx. 50 the actors that were activated.
