Project duration May 2023 - April 2026
Status Ongoing
Venture Chips Joint Undertaking – an EU program to strengthen competitiveness in semiconductors

Purpose and goal

All2GaN aims to drive collaboration in a Pan-European innovation network with the focus on performance and reliability of GaN power and RF technologies to meet a substantial higher utilization level, covering the full supply chain from substrates to application systems and end users. ALL2GaN will strengthen the European Power Electronics Industry by offering an EU-born smart GaN Integration Toolbox as a base for applications with significantly increased material- and energy efficiency, thus meeting the global energy needs while keeping the CO2 footprint to the minimum

Expected effects and result

With the focus of realizing this GaN “Integration Toolbox” the Innovation Action project proposal ALL2GaN is expected to impact the entire value chain of GaN-based power and RF electronics. All2GaN will help advancing the methods to evaluate and optimize reliability and robustness of GaN components, modules, and systems for shortest time-to-market and maximum product availability at the end user. All2GaN will also demonstrate highest affordable performance for greener power electronics and RF applications.

Planned approach and implementation

ALL2GaN is based on a classical work package structure including 7 work packages. The work package structure follows the overall value chain, encompassing Technology (WP1-WP3), Integration & Packaging (WP4), Reliability (WP5), Use Cases (WP6), and Dissemination (WP7). This project structure thoroughly supports the overall ALL2GaN objectives. Swedish partners and their main WP participation are: Alixlabs AB (WP1,7), Chalmers Tekniska Högskola (WP5,6,7), Ericsson Research AB (WP3,4,5,6,7), RISE Research Institutes of Sweden AB (WP1,4,5,7) and SweGaN AB (WP1,7).
